Welcome to NoDepositLights.com (the "Site"), operated by Compare Power, LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Site.

1. Service Description

NoDepositLights.com is a comparison website that helps Texas residents find and compare no-deposit and prepaid electricity plans. We are not a retail electric provider (REP) or utility company. We do not sell electricity, generate power, or manage electric accounts.

We operate as a licensed electricity broker under the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT). Our PUCT broker license number is BR190020. When you choose a plan through our Site, you are enrolling directly with the light company that offers that plan.

2. Compensation Disclosure

We earn commissions from light companies when you enroll in an electricity plan through our Site. This is how we keep the Site free for you. Our compensation may vary by light company and plan type, and it may influence which plans appear on the Site and in what order.

The price you pay for electricity is the same whether you enroll through NoDepositLights.com or directly with the light company. We do not mark up rates or add fees to your plan.

3. Your Relationship with Light Companies

When you enroll with a light company through our Site, your service agreement is between you and that light company. We are not a party to that agreement. You should direct all billing questions, service issues, account changes, and complaints to your light company.

We do not control and are not responsible for:

  • The rates, fees, or terms offered by any light company
  • The quality or reliability of electric service
  • Deposit requirements or credit check outcomes
  • Same-day connection availability or timing
  • Customer service provided by any light company

4. Use of the Site

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Site for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:

  • Copy, reproduce, or redistribute any content from the Site without written permission.
  • Use automated systems (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access the Site or extract data.
  • Interfere with the Site's operation or attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems.
  • Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
  • Transmit viruses, malware, or other harmful code.
  • Use the Site to compete with us or to develop a competing product or service.

We reserve the right to terminate or restrict your access to the Site at any time, without notice, for any reason.

5. Accuracy of Information

We strive to display accurate, up-to-date plan information. However, electricity plans change frequently. Rates, availability, terms, and deposit requirements shown on the Site are provided by third parties and may not reflect real-time conditions. We do not guarantee:

  • The accuracy or completeness of any plan information displayed
  • That any particular plan will be available when you attempt to enroll
  • That rates shown will match the rate offered at enrollment
  • That same-day service will be available in your area

Always verify plan details, rates, and terms directly with the light company before completing enrollment.

6. Intellectual Property

All content on the Site — including text, graphics, logos, images, design elements, and software — is the property of Compare Power, LLC or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

The NoDepositLights.com name, logo, and all related marks are trademarks of Compare Power, LLC. You may not use our trademarks without prior written consent.

7. Links to Third-Party Sites

The Site contains links to third-party websites, including light company enrollment pages and Compare Power. These links are provided for your convenience. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of any third-party site. Visiting a linked site is at your own risk.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT, INFORMATION, AND SERVICES PROVIDED THROUGH THE SITE ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS. WE DO NOT WARRANT THE ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, OR COMPLETENESS OF ANY INFORMATION ON THE SITE.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, COMPARE POWER, LLC AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SITE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Loss of data, revenue, profits, or business opportunities
  • Damages resulting from reliance on information provided through the Site
  • Damages arising from any electricity service you purchase through our referrals
  • Damages caused by interruption of service, errors, or omissions

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED TEN DOLLARS ($10.00) OR THE MINIMUM AMOUNT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Compare Power, LLC and its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Site; (b) your violation of these Terms; or (c) your violation of any rights of another party.

11. Texas Broker Disclosure

Compare Power, LLC is registered with the Public Utility Commission of Texas as an electricity broker.

As a broker, we facilitate connections between consumers and retail electric providers. We do not own, operate, or control any electric generation, transmission, or distribution facilities.

12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Site shall be filed exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Dallas County, Texas. You consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.

13. Arbitration Agreement

Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. The arbitration shall be conducted in Dallas County, Texas. You agree that any arbitration shall be conducted on an individual basis and not as a class, consolidated, or representative action. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.

14. Limitation on Claims

Any cause of action or claim you may have arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site must be commenced within one (1) year after the cause of action accrues. Otherwise, such cause of action or claim is permanently barred.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time by posting the revised version on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Site after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Compare Power, LLC regarding your use of the Site and supersede all prior agreements, understandings, and communications.
