When's the Cutoff for Same-Day Lights?
This is the most important thing to know. Miss the cutoff and you're waiting until tomorrow.
Weekdays (Monday-Friday)
Order before 2 PM to have the most options. After that, you're limited to prepaid plans.
Weekends & Holidays
Most utilities don't process connections on weekends or holidays. You can sign up, but your lights won't come on until the next business day (usually Monday morning).
Do I have a smart meter?
About 90% of Texas homes have smart meters. If you do, the utility can flip your switch remotely without sending a truck. That's how same-day works.
