We check which light companies serve your address and can connect today. Not all companies do same-day in all areas. We show you the ones that will.
Pick a Plan
Choose a pay-as-you-go plan. No credit check, no deposit. Pay your startup fee (usually $40-$75) and add money to your account. Takes about 5 minutes.

Who Can Get Same-Day Lights
Everyone. That's the whole point of these plans. They don't check credit, don't require deposits, and don't care about your history. If you can pay the startup fee and add money to your account, you can get your lights on today.
All you need:
- Valid Texas address where you need lights
- $80-$135 to cover startup fee + initial account balance
- Order before the cutoff time (noon to 6 PM CT depending on light company)
No credit check. No questions about why your lights got cut off. No judgment. Just fast power when you need it.
What If I Owe My Old Light Company?
Depends. If you owe money to a Texas light company, they can put what's called a "switch hold" on your address. That blocks everyone until you pay. There's no way around it - we've looked.
But we can check if you have a switch hold before you waste time signing up. Just enter your ZIP and address, and we'll tell you straight up if there's a block.
What You'll Pay to Get Lights Today
After that, you pay as you go. Add money to your account when you need to. No surprise bills, no contracts, no games.
Is Same-Day More Expensive?
Prepaid lights cost about $200/year more than traditional plans. But you can't get traditional plans without good credit and a deposit. So the real question isn't "is it cheaper?" - it's "can you afford $300-$500 upfront for a deposit right now?"
Most people picking same-day lights can't. That's why these plans exist. They trade slightly higher rates for zero barrier to entry and zero credit checks.
Common Questions About Same-Day Lights
How fast can I get my lights turned on?
Most people get their lights on the same day - usually 2-4 hours after signing up. Cutoff times vary by light company, from noon to 6:00 PM CT. Payless Power and TXU Energy have the latest cutoffs at 6:00 PM.
What light companies offer same-day service?
Payless Power, TXU Energy, Frontier Utilities, 4Change Energy, Gexa Energy, Reliant Energy, Direct Energy, and more. Cutoff times range from noon to 6 PM CT. We check which ones serve your address and show you their cutoff times.
Do I need a deposit for same-day lights?
No. Pay-as-you-go plans require no deposit and no credit check. You pay a startup fee ($40-$75) that goes toward your usage - it's not a deposit. Traditional plans may also be available with $0 deposit through our deposit check process.
What happens if I miss the cutoff time?
Sign up anyway - your order will be first in line for the next morning. Cutoffs range from noon (Amigo Energy) to 6:00 PM CT (Payless Power, TXU Energy). Most people have lights by 8-10 AM the next business day.
Can I get same-day lights on weekends?
Yes. Seven light companies process same-day connections on Saturday (Payless Power, TXU, Frontier, 4Change, Gexa until 6 PM; Reliant until 5 PM; Amigo until noon). Only Payless Power offers Sunday same-day service (until 6 PM). Full Saturday guide
How much does it cost to get same-day lights?
Startup fees run $40-$75 depending on the light company. Then add $40-$60 to start your account. Total: about $80-$135 to get your lights on today. No hidden fees.
