What Direct Energy Actually Costs

Direct Energy’s pricing depends on whether you’re looking at traditional plans or the Power-To-Go prepaid option. The two are very different animals.

How Direct Energy Billing Works

Traditional billing: Monthly statements. You use power, they bill you at the end of the cycle. Autopay is available. Late payments trigger fees and eventually disconnection. The Verdict on Direct Energy

Direct Energy is a solid, well-backed light company with competitive traditional rates. If your credit is in decent shape and you can get approved without a deposit, they’re a perfectly fine choice. The NRG backing means stability, and the 90-day guarantee gives you room to adjust.

But if you’re here because your credit is rough, Direct Energy’s traditional plans will likely come with a deposit.
